We just received permission to officially apply to the AFA. We are still pursueing other options since the AFA is so competitive. I have a prayer request for your son's prayer group. Would they pray for Jason in OH,if it is God's will that another Christain would be at the AFA. His character is strong but other areas are weak.
Helen in OH
Yes, he would find good Christian fellowship. The Academy is a grueling place to be, but there are cadets who are solid believers and take following Jesus very seriously. However, they stand alone. There are several great organizations on campus: Navigators, Officer Christian Fellowship, and a good chapel program, to name a few. My son is highly involved in a guys' discipleship group that meets weekly for accountability and prayer, and he attends a good, solid church. It has not been easy, but it has been so good. And it is always encouraging to have academy graduates return who are fighter pilots and ex-astrounats and find out that they too are solid believers who have also been willing to stand alone and be known as Christians who will not compromise spiritually or morally.
> Feel free to continue to ask questions. I remember my husband and me being so hungry for information. The Academy is not a typical college, and there are unique challenges even for the parents.

> > Jason has received the nomination from our Representative. Now we have to complete the formal application process. We will find out the appointment by April. We are still pursuing other schools. AFA is his first choice. Would he find good Christain fellowship?
